Abstract:
Disclosed are a character generation system, character generation method, and program that are able to easily generate a face that does not seem visually awkward in terms of skin color, facial contour, or the like on the basis of face-capture image information of a subject imaged by a digital camera or the like as the face of a character in a virtual space that is achieved using a computer such as a portable game device. The character generation system (10) is provided with a captured image information acquisition unit (14), a texture generation unit (15), and a texture applying unit (16). The captured image information acquisition unit (14) acquires face-capture image information corresponding to a face texture (53) image application region (51) of the character from captured image information. The texture generation unit (15) screens pixels within the image application region (51) on the basis of color information of a difference region (52), replaces the color information of the screened pixels with color information of the difference region (52), and generates a face texture (53) from the face-capture image information.
