Abstract:
The disclosed character information display device is provided with a display format deciding unit (2) which decides to adopt telop display as the display format of a character string if the number of characters making up a character string to be displayed exceeds the number of characters in one line on a screen, and a scroll speed setting unit (6) which sets the scroll speed of the character string to be displayed to a standard speed if a reading difficulty determination unit (4) determines that the character string is easily readable, and sets the scroll speed of the character string to be displayed to a speed lower than the standard speed if the character string is determined to be difficult to read.
