Abstract:
In this invention, a server (10) generates a characteristic point that acts as a candidate for the node of a travel path, on the basis of the travel trajectory of a mobile unit. At this time, the server (10) acquires the travel trajectory from an on-board device (20) via a network. The server (10) extracts a linear component from a travel trajectory and determines the point of intersection of the line of extension of the extracted linear component from the travel trajectory, and the line of extension of another linear component adjoining the linear component in the travel trajectory, and if the travel trajectory passes within a predetermined range from said point of intersection, generates said point of intersection as a characteristic point.
