Abstract:
A charge air cooler comprises a high temperature side heat exchanger, and a low temperature side heat exchanger. The high temperature side heat exchanger is provided in a high temperature side cooling channel through which first refrigerant cooled by a first heat exchanger (radiator) flows. The high temperature side heat exchanger cools the supercharged intake air by the first refrigerant. The low temperature side heat exchanger is provided in a low temperature side cooling channel through which second refrigerant cooled by a second heat exchanger (sub-radiator) to a temperature lower than the temperature of the first refrigerant flows. The low temperature side heat exchanger cools the intake air which is cooled by the high temperature side heat exchanger by the second refrigerant. With such a charge air cooler, upsizing of the second heat exchanger (sub-radiator) can be suppressed and the intake air can be cooled down to a desired temperature.
