Abstract:
A charger and charging method for a battery pack, which relate to the technical field of charging. The charger for a battery pack comprises: a switch, which is arranged on a charging loop of a power source; and a control circuit, which is used for controlling the switch to be turned on, wherein a first end of the control circuit is connected to the switch, and a second end of the control circuit is connected to a discharge terminal of the battery pack, the discharge terminal of the battery pack being connected to the second end of the control circuit and then supplying power to the control circuit, and the control circuit controlling, after being powered on, the switch to be turned on, so as to turn on the charging loop. In the present solution, the control circuit draws electricity from the discharge terminal of the battery pack, that is, when the battery pack is not connected to the charger, an insertion piece, which is used for supplying power to the battery pack, on the charger is not electrified, thereby reducing the risk of an electric shock when the battery pack is being charged.
