Abstract:
Disclosed is a charger that connects an external power supply and an electric propulsion vehicle and charges the electric propulsion vehicle. Said charger comprises: a leakage detection unit (1) that detects charger leakage; a leakage cut-off unit (2) that turns on and off power supply from the external power supply; a leakage confirmation relay (3) that can force a circuit on the downstream side of the leakage detection unit to leak; and a resistance unit (5) connected in series to the leakage confirmation relay (3) and structured so as to be able to be set to any of a plurality of leakage current values; and a control unit (8) that, while the downstream circuit is being forced to leak, switches the leakage cut-off unit (1) based on the detection results of the leakage detection unit (1).
