Abstract:
[Problem] To reliably charge fine particle dust, mist, and the like in air containing dust and to improve charging efficiency.
[Solution] This charging device and electric dust collector are characterized by being provided with a downstream side grounding electrode plate 90, which is disposed so as to be orientated for interrupting the flow of air containing dust and wherein a plurality of opening parts 91 through which the air containing dust passes are formed, a support substrate 60 disposed more on the upstream side in the direction of flow of the air containing dust than the downstream side grounding electrode plate 90, and a downstream side discharge electrode 80b supported by the support substrate 60 so as to extend to the downstream side grounding electrode plate 90 side from the support substrate 60 and disposed so as to correspond to each opening part 91 of the downstream side grounding electrode plate 90, with the tip part of the downstream side discharge electrode 80b passing through an opening part 91 of the downstream side grounding electrode plate 90 and protruding more to the downstream side in the direction of flow of the air containing dust than the downstream side grounding electrode plate 90, as well as the tip part of the downstream side discharge electrode 80b and the peripheral edge part of the opening part 91 being provided such that a prescribed gap is maintained therebetween.
