Abstract:
Disclosed is a charging device with which charging of a battery can be appropriately performed while battery depletion is prevented. In a charging system (1) provided with a charging device (2), if the output power from a solar battery (3) is greater than or equal to a prescribed value, power is supplied to a charging control system (7) that controls charging of batteries (12, 13). Consequently, if the output power from the solar battery (3) is small, the charging control system (7) will not start, so no power is consumed in the charging control system (7). As a result, battery depletion can be prevented. Furthermore, if the output power from the solar battery (3) is greater than or equal to the prescribed value, battery charging is performed by the charging control system (7), and therefore charging of the batteries (12, 13) can be suitably performed.
