Abstract:
According to various embodiments, an electronic device comprises a housing, a battery, at least one sensor, a charging circuit, and at least one processor, wherein the at least one processor can be configured to: charge the battery with a first charging current through the charging circuit; while charging the battery with the first charging current, measure the temperature associated with the electronic device by using the at least one sensor, and lower the first charging current to a second charging current on the basis of the temperature associated with the electronic device that is higher than or equal to a first threshold temperature, so as to charge the battery; while charging the battery with the second charging current, lower the first charging current on the basis of the temperature associated with the electronic device being lower than a second threshold temperature that is lower than the first threshold temperature, so as to charge the battery; and charge the battery with the lowered first charging current on the basis of the number of times the first charging current is lowered and the temperature associated with the electronic device that is lower than the first threshold temperature. Other various embodiments can be provided.
