Abstract:
The invention relates to a charging device for an electric vehicle. The object of the present invention is to provide a highly suitable charging device for an electric vehicle. A charging device for an electric vehicle having a bolt for locking a mechanical connection between the charging device and a further charging device is provided in order to achieve the object. There is also a detector device which, in the case of a holding opening, which contributes to locking, being damaged, can detect a position of the bolt which is made possible on account of the damage. This position is called the detectable position in the text which follows. If the holding opening is damaged in such a way that locking is no longer possible, the bolt can be moved to the detectable position on account of this damage. If, however, the holding opening is undamaged, the bolt cannot be moved to the detectable position. The detector device can identify the movement of the lock to its detectable position which the bolt can reach only when the holding opening is correspondingly damaged. Therefore, risk-related damage to a holding opening can be established by the detector device, it being possible to utilize this in order to avoid users of the charging device being endangered on account of faulty locking. A holding device of this kind has a low space requirement.
