Abstract:
Provided are a charging system and a method for controlling a charging system in which charging can be performed efficiently with a restricted power supply when a large number of parked electric vehicles are simultaneously charged. A used-power measurement device (2), a charging control device (3), a parked-vehicle quantity detection device (4), a first charging device (5), and a second charging device (6) are provided. Vehicles parked in a parking space are divided into a first vehicle group owned by individuals and a second vehicle group shared by a plurality of persons. If the number of parked vehicles (or parked vehicle ratio) of the first vehicle group is equal to or greater than a prescribed value (for example, if 70% or more of the number of registered vehicles of the first vehicle group are parked), charging is performed prioritising the first vehicle group. If the number of parked vehicles (or parked vehicle ratio) of the first vehicle group is less than the prescribed value, charging is performed prioritising the second vehicle group.
