Abstract:
An chassis-type battery swapping station used for an electric car, comprising: a battery swapping platform (1) used to park and position an electric car, a first battery charging box (2) provided at one side of the battery swapping platform (1) used to store a battery and charge said battery, and a battery swapping robot (3) used to exchange a battery in an electric car lacking charge and a battery on the first battery charging box (2) which is full of charge; when frequency of battery swapping of an electric car increases, a second battery charging box (4) may be added at another side of the battery swapping platform, the two battery charging boxes both being fixedly connected to the battery swapping platform by means of bolts. A battery swapping method is also disclosed. The present battery swapping station not only is easy to install and has a small footprint, but can also effectively increase or decrease number of charging boxes according to frequency of battery changes for an electric car, effectively preventing resource waste.
