Abstract:
A chemical heat storage apparatus for heating a fluid (e.g., exhaust gas discharged from an internal combustion engine), wherein the chemical heat storage apparatus is provided with: a reaction container (11) having a heat storage material for generating heat through a chemical reaction with a reaction medium and desorbing the reaction medium through heat absorption, and a container (27) for accommodating the heat storage material in the interior thereof; a storage container for storing the reaction medium; and a connecting pipe via which the reaction container (11) and the storage container communicate, said connecting pipe allowing the reaction medium to flow between the reaction container (11) and the storage container. The reaction container (11) has fluid channels (29) which are arranged inside a pipe (20) through which the fluid flows, and which have upstream openings and downstream openings provided along the direction in which the fluid flows. Protrusions (28) are arranged adjacent to the upstream openings on the upstream side of the reaction container (11) relative to the direction in which the fluid flows, and become narrower further upstream from the upstream openings.
