Abstract:

Claims:
P A T E N T C L A I M S

1. Chimney extension (1) adapted to be installed on a chimney body, in particular to the outlet of a diameter-standardized flue lining (3), provided with a bottom part (4) with an internal groove (5) for round seal, with a connecting reduced part (6) with a transition to the upper part (7) with a dispersion cone (8) for lateral dispersal of the outlet flue gas to the ambient environment through side perimeter carve-outs (9) under the cover lid (10), characterized in that it has similar cut-outs (11) arranged along the perimeter and opposite to the side perimeter carve-outs (9) in the upper part of the dispersion cone (8).

2. Chimney extension (1) according to claim 1, characterized in that the side peripheral carve-outs (9) under the cover lid (10), together with the cut-outs (11) in the upper part of the dispersion cone (8), are mutually arranged in one common horizontal plane.

3. Chimney extension (1) according to claim 1, characterized in that the side peripheral carve-outs (9) under the cover lid (10), together with the cut-outs (11) in the upper part of the dispersion cone (8), are mutually arranged facing at least four sides.

4. Chimney extension (1) according to claim 1, characterized in that all its parts are made of plastic and joined together with thermal welding.

Chimney extension

Field of invention

The invention relates to a chimney extension adapted to be installed on a chimney body, in particular to the outlet of a diameter-standardized flue lining, provided for this purpose with a bottom part with an internal groove for round seal, with a connecting reduced part with a transition to the upper part with a dispersion cone for lateral dispersal of the outlet flue gas.

State of the art

Considering the environment, the emphasis is currently on reducing undesirable emissions. This can be achieved by combustion of quality fuels, for example well-dried wood, coke, gas etc. Given that gas is a relatively expensive fuel, it is in many cases replaced by less valuable fuels, the combustion of which produces a large amount of flue gases, which then cause air pollution. It is known that the amount of the chimney draft increases in proportion to its height and flue gas temperature, and also depends on current weather conditions.

Under worsened conditions, such as strong winds or a storm, there may be situations where flue gases can re-enter the heating device or the heated room. To prevent these phenomena, currently there are various chimney extensions used in tubular form, that increase the natural draft of the chimney. Typically, these chimney extensions have a cover fixed to the upper end, for example in the form of a small roof or a rotating head, which, in addition to prevention of rainwater drainage, is rotated by the influence of the flowing air so that the flue gas flows so-called "windward", thereby partially increasing the draft of the chimney. The disadvantage of all these known embodiments of chimney extensions is that they increase or, on the contrary, dangerously reduce the draft of the chimney with relatively low impact on the emissions and fuel economy. Summary of the invention

The object of the present invention is to provide a chimney extension with stabilizing effects on exhaust of the flue gas, regardless of the variability of the outdoor environment, wherein according to the present invention this is accomplished by the fact that the chimney extension adapted to be installed on a chimney body, in particular to the outlet of a diameter-standardized flue lining, provided for this purpose with a bottom part with an internal groove for round seal, with a connecting reduced part with a transition to the upper part with a dispersion cone for lateral dispersal of the outlet flue gas to the ambient environment through side perimeter carve-outs under the cover lid, has similar cut-outs created by projection, arranged along the perimeter and opposite to the side perimeter carve-outs in the upper part of the dispersion cone.

The chimney extension is preferably adapted according to the present invention so that the side peripheral carve-outs under the cover lid, together with the cut-outs in the upper part of the dispersion cone, are mutually arranged in one common horizontal plane.

It is preferred according to the present invention that the side peripheral carve-outs under the cover lid, together with the cut-outs in the upper part of the dispersion cone, are arranged at least to face four sides.

It is furthermore preferred according to the present invention that all the parts of the chimney extension are made of plastic and are joined together with thermal welding.

Invention embodiment example

Chimney extension 1 adapted to be installed on a chimney body, in particular to the outlet 2 of a diameter-standardized flue lining 3, provided for this purpose with a bottom part 4, for example with an internal groove 5 for a not displayed round seal (Fig. 2), with a connecting reduced part 6 for connection of various diameters with a transition to the upper part 7 with a dispersion cone 8 for lateral dispersal of the outlet flue gas to the ambient environment through side peripheral carve-outs 9 under the cover lid 10 of the chimney extension L

Peripherally and opposite to the peripheral side carve-outs 9, the upper part of the dispersion cone 8 is provided with similar projected cut-outs 1 L The side peripheral carve-outs 9 under the cover lid 10, together with the cut-outs ϋ in the upper part of the dispersion cone 8, are arranged at least to face four sides and are essentially mutually arranged in one common horizontal plane.

For different diameters of the flue gas outlet, with regard to the diameter of the specific flue lining 3, the diameter of the reduced part 6 together with the bottom part 4 are naturally adapted, while the size of the upper part 7 may remain essentially the same, while its adaptation for connection to the reduced part 6 consists of cutting or shortening its tampered part 13 along the indicated line (Fig. 2), thus changing its diameter in the specific area. It can be justifiably assumed that the narrowed profile of the reduced part 6 contributes to the increased outflow speed of the flue gas before its impact on the dispersion cone 8 and thus their faster dispersal to the ambient environment through the side peripheral carve-outs 9 in the upper part 7.

In addition, the reduced part 6 may contain an inner drip lip 12 which also serves as a stop with respect to the outlet of the flue lining 3.

All the parts of the chimney extension 1 are made of plastic and are joined together with thermal welding.

During bad external weather conditions, in particular during stormy winds or a blizzard etc., as schematically illustrated on Fig.3, only their single main thrust component X may try to thrust inside the chimney extension 1 by ingress through any but always only one peripheral carve-out 9, but thanks to the opposite arranged cut-outs ϋ in the dispersion cone 8 it may pass under the lid 10 all the way to the other side of the chimney extension \, without significantly affecting the flue gas outlet on that side and not causing dangerous and otherwise adverse blasting of these flue gases back to the chimney at all. Other thrust components XY are essentially passing the chimney extension I without further adverse effects and impacts on chimney draft etc.
