Title:
CHIP ANTENNA
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/099926
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
It is intended to provide a chip antenna, which is enabled by raising an effective specific dielectric constant to reduce the chip size and the packaging area. The chip antenna (10) includes a rectangular substrate (11) made of a dielectric material, feeding electrodes (12) formed on one principal face (11a) of the substrate (11), strip-line shaped radiation electrodes (13) of a length of about λ/4 so formed on the principal face (11a) of the substrate (11) as to confront the feeding electrodes (12) through a gap (g), stationary electrodes (14a, 14b) formed on the other principal face (11b) of the substrate (11), and through holes (15a, 15b) extending through the inside of the substrate (11). The electrodes (12, 13) are not connected with the stationary electrodes (14a, 14b) through the side faces of the substrate (11), but the electrodes on the upper and lower faces are electrically connected by through hole electrodes extending from the one principal face (11a) to the other principal face (11b).
