A chip removing device of a band saw machine, comprising a pair of brush support bodies having brushes (57) allowed to come into contact with both side-faces of a band saw blade (23U). The brush support bodies are installed so as to be swung in directions close to and apart from the band saw blade. Also, the device comprises an energizing means capable of energizing the brush support bodies in directions close to and apart from the band saw blade. The chip removing device is characterized in that the chips are removed by rotating the brushes from the blade root side to the blade tip side of the band saw blade.
