Abstract:
The purpose of the present disclosure is to provide: a chip resistor which is capable of suppressing the occurrence of shape defects, change of display, and scattering during processing; and a method for producing this chip resistor. A chip resistor (10) according to the present disclosure is provided with: a resistive element (11); a pair of electrodes (12) which are formed on both end portions of the resistive element (11); and a protective coating layer (16) which covers the resistive element (11), while transmitting laser light. A display layer (metal layer 15) is positioned on the resistive element (11)-side surface of the protective coating layer (16); and an incision part (17) that is provided in a part of the protective coating layer (16)-side surface of the metal layer (15) serves as a display (18) of the chip resistor (10).
