Abstract:
Provided is a chip resistor which makes it possible to improve surge properties and to finely and accurately adjust a resistance value. A chip resistor 1 having a resistor 5 which is printed and formed in a manner such that a first meandering section 6 and a second meandering section 7 are contiguous with one another and a rectangular adjustment part 8 is sandwiched therebetween. A first trimming groove 9 is formed in the adjustment part 8, and by doing so, surge properties are improved by lengthening the current path of the resistor 5, and the resistance value of the resistor 5 is finely adjusted so as to near a target resistance value. A second trimming groove 10 is formed in a region exhibiting a small electric current distribution in the second meandering section 7, and as a result, the resistance value of the resistor 5 is finely adjusted so as to match the target resistance value according to the notch depth of the second trimming groove 10.
