Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a chitin nanofiber which is a single fiber having sufficient length and which is not chemically denatured. This method for manufacturing a chitin nanofiber is characterized by comprising: a step wherein refined alpha-chitin undergoes a partial deacetylization; a step wherein the alpha-chitin which has been partially deacetylized is immersed in an acid liquid with a pH of 5 or less; and a step wherein, after immersion, the alpha-chitin undergoes a fibrillation process.
