Abstract:
Provided is a drive method for a cholesteric liquid crystal display device that can assure system operating stability even during battery voltage drops. The drive method for the proposed cholesteric liquid crystal display device is provided with: a monitoring step for monitoring a battery power supply voltage by a monitoring unit; a line number setting step that, when the difference between the power supply voltage of the battery that is monitored in the monitoring step and a lower limit value for the battery output voltage necessary for normal operation of a processing device is lower than a prescribed value, sets the number of lines for which high voltage is applied at one time lower than when the difference is the prescribed value or higher; and a step for executing rewriting of the display screen with the number of lines that has been set.
