Abstract:

A chuck mechanism equipped with a chuck body 10, a plunger 40 which is capable of moving in the axial direction and positioned inside the chuck body, and a master jaw 20 which engages the plunger and is capable of moving in the radial direction due to the wedge effect, wherein: a cross-sectionally T-shaped guide groove 11 for guiding a master jaw in the radial direction is formed in the chuck body; the master jaw has a narrow-width section 23 and a wide-width section 24 which form a cross-sectional T shape; a wedge section 21 that engages a wedge groove 41 of the plunger is formed to the inside of the wide-width section in the radial direction; and a widthwise-direction end surface 21a of the wedge section is located to the outside in the widthwise direction from the widthwise-direction end surface 23a of the narrow-width section.
