Abstract:
The present invention relates to a vehicle cigar lighter for preventing bimetal damage, which has a socket within which a bimetal is installed inside the cigar lighting plug to prevent contact with plugs of various other accessories. According to the present invention, the cigar lighter socket consists of a cylindrical socket housing open at one end and closed at the other end, and a V-shaped plate spring fixed to the inner floor of the closed end of the socket housing by a fixing bolt and an insulator therebetween, and electrically connected to a positive terminal. The cigar lighter plug comprises: a knob made of an insulation material to be used as a grip; a knob post, one end of which is fastened to the center of the knob and having a heating element fixed to the other end, and a bimetal-holding projection formed at one side; a cylindrical inner body open at one end and closed at the other end, having the knob insertably and removably installed in the open end and having the knob post coupled through the closed end and the heating element disposed on the outside; a cylindrical hood case, both ends of which are open and fixed on the outside of the inner body, such that one side receives the inner body and the heating element; a bimetal installed within the inner body, having the knob post slidably coupled therethrough, and having a bent portion formed on the free end at either side to hold or release the holding projection of the knob post; and a hood spring coupled to the outer periphery of the knob post.
