Abstract:
Provided is a circuit breaker that can improve breaking performance by suppressing arc return and maintaining a high arc voltage. The circuit breaker has a fixed member having a fixed contact point and a movable member having a movable contact point moving toward and away from the fixed contact point, and an arc generated between the contact points is guided into an arc extinguishing chamber by an arc runner. A plurality of grids and support plates are laminated in the arc extinguishing chamber. The grids have a notch part for pulling in the arc formed in end parts on the fixed contact point side and the movable contact point side, and have an insulating part extending in the direction of width in the proximity of the apex of the notch part.
