Title:
CIRCUIT BREAKER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2003/044818
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A circuit breaker having excellent heat resistance, arc resistance and over travel characteristics between contact points and suitable to recycle or reuse. The circuit breaker comprises mechanisms (7, 28, 29, 31, 32) for opening&sol closing holders (6, 26) holding movable contacts (5, 25) rotatably, and bases (2, 21) for holding the holders (6, 26) rotatably and also holding fixed side contacts (10, 23). When an overcurrent is detected, the movable contacts (5, 25) are rotated and an arc generated between contacts points is extinguished by arc−extinguishers (9, 34). The bases (2, 21) are insulating moldings principally comprising crystalline thermoplastic resin irradiated with an electron beam after molding.
