Abstract:
Disclosed is a circuit breaker wherein the protective function of the breaker is able to be selectively switched, by means of a simple button operation, so that the circuit breaker can be operated as either a molded case circuit breaker or an earth leakage breaker, as needed. A circuit breaker is provided with overcurrent protection and ground fault protection functions, and a main case equipped with: a main circuit contact point (2), an opening/closing mechanism (3), an operating handle (4), an overcurrent trip device (5), a zero-phase current transformer (6), an earth leakage detection circuit (7) and a trip coil unit (8). The ground fault protection function can be selectively set to "on" or "off" by inserting and connecting a mode switching unit (11), by means of setting a button (16) in the wiring circuit of a power source line (9), which provides electricity from a main circuit (1) to the earth leakage detection circuit (7), to ON or OFF.
