Abstract:
In the present invention, in order to perform noise correction by means of digital processing, a mixed video signal in which an input video signal and a low-pass video signal are mixed at a predetermined ratio in accordance with an edge signal is an output video signal, and the mixing ratio is controlled in a manner such that an offset from the edge signal becoming larger the greater the low-pass video signal (the video signal level) is attenuated, the ratio of the low-pass video signal contained in the mixed video signal is greater at portions where the edge signal is low (portions where the image is flat), and the ratio of the low-pass video signal contained in the mixed video signal is lower at portions where the edge signal is high (edge portions).
