Abstract:
Arranged on a surface (P) of a substrate (B) are: a patch conductor (12) which radiates an electromagnetic field that has been fed; a feeder path (11) which feeds to the patch conductor (12) an electromagnetic field that has been input; two slits (15A, 15B) which are parallel to the feeder path (11) and are directed toward the inner side of the patch conductor (12) on both sides of a connection part of the feeder path (11); and a ring conductor (13) which is separated from the patch conductor with a gap (14) interposed therebetween so as to surround the outer periphery of the patch conductor (12). Thereby, capacitance can be formed between the patch conductor (12) and the ring conductor (13), and when impedance matching with the feeder path (11) is to be established, adjustment can be made with the use of the size of the ring conductor (13) or the gap (14). Consequently, it is possible to obtain a high degree of freedom of control of a center frequency, a bandwidth, directivity/gain, and the like, and not only can the directivity/gain be improved significantly, but broadband radiation characteristics can also be obtained.
