A circuit for executing a hash algorithm, comprising: an input module (110), configured to receive data; and an operation module (120), configured to calculate hash values on the basis of the received data; the operation module (120) comprises a plurality of operation stages arranged in a pipeline structure, the plurality of operation stages include a 0th operation stage, a first operation stage, and up to a Pth operation stage, P being a fixed positive integer greater than 1 and less than the number of operation stages in the pipeline structure; each operation stage among the operation stages from the first operation stage to the Pth operation stage comprises: a plurality of cache registers, configured to store an intermediate value of the current operation stage and run at a first frequency; and a plurality of expansion registers, configured to store expansion data of the current operation stage, and comprising a first group of expansion registers running at the first frequency and a second group of expansion registers running at a second frequency, the second frequency being 1/N times of the first frequency.
