Abstract:
Disclosed is a circular saw cutting machine such that even after feeding becomes impossible, further cutting is performed with cutting accuracy maintained, resulting in the amount of remaining material being reduced. A main vise device (13) is provided with a rear vise (30) which is fixed in position; and a front vise (40) which is installed in such a way as to be capable of moving back and forth in a range between a position (P3) and a rearmost position (P1), said position (P3) being forward of a home position (P2) during cutting, and said rearmost position (P1) being the location where the rear ends of jaws (41, 42) come into contact with the front ends of jaws (31, 32) of rear vise (30). The rear vise (30) and the front vise (40) are individually provided with a clamping cylinder (33) and a clamping cylinder (43), respectively, which can be independently controlled so as to be capable of independently carrying out clamping and unclamping operations. When the rear end of a workpiece (W) is detected by a photoelectric sensor (56), the remaining length (L) is calculated and divided by a constant-length feed amount (A), with the result that a number (N) of times the remaining portion can be cut is calculated. During the remaining N times, constant-length feed is continued by simultaneously using the front vise (40) and a conveying vise device (15) or by performing a workpiece pull-out operation by means of an independent operation by the front vise (40).
