Abstract:

A circularly polarizied antenna having a high gain in the zenith direction and ensuring a good axial ratio over a very wide range. The circularly polarizied antenna (10) has a planar loop antenna element (122), and a feeding means for feeding to the planar loop antenna element (122) four powers where phases are shifted by 90˚ from each other. The feeding means consists of four feeding probes (131-134). The circularly polarized antenna (10) has a circuit board (25) arranged in parallel with the planar loop antenna element (122). The circuit board (25) has an area larger than that of the planar loop antenna element (122). The circuit board (25) has a major surface (25U) which serves entirely as a ground plane. A 90˚ phase shifter is formed on the back side (25L) of the circuit board (25).
