Abstract:
A circularly polarizing plate which is disposed on the viewing side of an image display element in an image display device that is equipped with the image display element, and which sequentially comprises a linear polarizer and a broadband λ/4 plate in this order from the image display element side. This circularly polarizing plate is configured such that: the broadband λ/4 plate sequentially comprises a λ/2 plate and a λ/4 plate in this order from the linear polarizer side; at least one of the λ/2 plate and the λ/4 plate is a laminate that sequentially comprises a first outer layer, an intermediate layer containing an ultraviolet absorbent, and a second outer layer in this order; the broadband λ/4 plate has a light transmittance of 1.0% or less at the wavelength of 380 nm; and the broadband λ/4 plate has a light transmittance of 5.0% or less at the wavelength of 390 nm.
