Abstract:
Provided are clad metals which combine excellent resistance to corrosion by electrolytic solutions and high electroconductivity, have excellent weldability in resistance welding, and suffer no peeling at the clad interfaces upon bending.
The clad metals each comprises surface layers constituted of Ni or a Ni alloy and a base layer constituted of Cu or a Cu alloy. One of the clad metals is (1) a clad metal which has an overall thickness of 0.2 mm or less, in which, when the clad metal is subjected to a 90º bending test 10 times and a cross-section thereof is examined thereafter, no peeling at the clad interfaces is observed, and in which the number of repetitions of the bending that are required for the clad metal to break is 17 or more. Another is (2) a clad metal which has an overall thickness exceeding 0.2 mm and in which, when the clad metal is subjected to a 90º bending test at a radius of curvature that is twice the thickness of the clad metal and a cross-section thereof is visually examined thereafter, no peeling at the clad interfaces is observed. Still another is (3) a clad metal which has a strength of peeling between the Ni and the Cu of 4 N/mm or more.
