Abstract:
A clamp device (3) capable of maintaining a stable clamping state even if a fixed object being a work pallet or a metal mold is repeatedly clamped, allowing to reduce a size, and capable of clamping the fixed object with a large clamp force, comprising a clamp mechanism (11) having a holding body (23) with a tubular holding part (23b), a plurality of steel balls (24) movably held on the holding part (23b) in radial direction opposedly to a plurality of partially spherical engaging recessed parts (21) formed in a bush (10), and a piston member (25) movably inserted into a shaft hole (28) in the holding part (23b), wherein the piston member (25) is axially moved by a clamp operating means (12) to engage the plurality of steel balls (24) with the plurality of engaging recessed parts (21) and axially moved by an unclamping means (13) to release the plurality of steel balls (24) from the engaging recessed parts (21).
