Abstract:
A clamping apparatus (10) is provided with: a metallic detector (20) that is provided to a pivot shaft (90) pivotally moving integrally with a clamp arm (18) under the operation of a driving unit (12), in such a manner as to extend along the pivot shaft (90) so as to be around the axis thereof; and one proximity sensor (22) that is arranged so as to be opposed to the detector (20) and that detects the magnetic loss of the detector (20). The detector (20) is formed so that the area of a sensor opposing part (126) opposed to a detection surface (124) of the proximity sensor (22) changes in association with the pivotal moving of the pivot shaft (90).
