Abstract:
A clamping device for a cross rail in a processing machine realizes a hydraulic-less environment. The clamping device is capable of sufficiently bearing large tilting load even when an air cylinder device that cannot produce drive force capable of directly opposing tilting load from the cross rail is used as the drive source. The clamping device is constituted of a wedge mechanism (9), a lever portion (11), and a lever mechanism (12). The wedge mechanism (9) is structured such that a wedge portion (7) is moved by driving by a wedge-driving device (6) or by urging force released by the driving so that the wedge portion (7) is pressingly engaged with a wedge engagement portion (8). The lever portion (11) swings about a fulcrum (10) by being pressed when the wedge portion (7) is pressingly engaged with the wedge engagement portion (8). In the lever mechanism (12), an acting portion (20) of the lever portion (11) presses a guide rail (5) with which a cross rail (3) is in contact, so that the cross rail (3) is pressed and fixed to the guide rail (5).
