Abstract:
This disclosure provides an apparatus for cleaning a surface of an optical window 32. The apparatus comprises: a first electrode 33 that is provided in an interior of the optical window and covered with a dielectric material forming the optical window; a second electrode 34a that is provided around a perimeter of the optical window and is exposed at the surface on at least one side of the optical window; an electric power source 50 that is electrically connected between the first electrode and the second electrode; and a control unit 60 that controls the electric power source 50 such that a high-frequency or pulsed voltage is applied across the first electrode and the second electrode by the electric power source, and a dielectric barrier discharge is generated along the surface 32a of the optical window.
