Abstract:
The invention pertains to a closed breather system in which a ventilator (2) separates and recovers an oil mist from a blow-by gas (1) extracted from an engine (3) through a gas extraction tube (5), and the blow-by gas (1) is returned to an intake tube (7); the closed breather system being configured such that a three-way valve (13) is provided in the gas extraction tube (5) and the flow channel of the three-way valve (13) is temporarily switched while the engine (3) remains cold, to allow the blow-by gas (1) to be released into the atmosphere.
