Abstract:
A closed-end or hermetically sealed metallic container and a method for manufacturing the container are configured as follows. First, one end or both ends of a body, which comprises a metallic tube having both ends open and having a finite length, and the entire peripheral side end of a metallic bottom plate or the entire peripheral side ends of both the metallic bottom plate and a metallic lid plate are joined by double seaming, or alternatively, first, the opening end at the other end of a metallic closed-end container, which has one end closed and the other end open and which has a finite length, and the entire peripheral side end of a metallic lid plate are joined by double seaming. Then, the bottom plate is lap welded at the double-seamed section to the one end of the body, or alternatively, the bottom plate and the lid plate are lap welded at the double-seamed sections to both ends of the body.
