Abstract:
Various embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a clothes dryer which automatically identifies, in an initial step after starting a drying process, characteristics of an object to be dried, and which appropriately classifies the object to be dried into one of a plurality of predetermined categories on the basis of the identified characteristics. To this end, the clothes dryer may comprise: a drum for accommodating an object to be dried; a dryness level detection unit for detecting the dryness level of the object to be dried in the drum; and a control unit for acquiring the dryness level of the object to be dried detected by means of the dryness level detection unit, while a first initial drying process is performed, determining the object to be dried as one weight category from among a plurality of weight categories on the basis of the acquired dryness level, acquiring control information determined on the basis of the determined weight category, and controlling that a main drying process is performed according to the control information.
