Abstract:
Provided are a cloud application scaling method and apparatus, which relate to the field of communications and can obtain, through analysis, a virtual machine capacity expansion/capacity reduction result for the maximum first benefit value of a VNF system, thereby improving the utilization ratio of resources and enhancing the reliability of a system. The cloud application scaling method comprises: acquiring a load of a virtual network function (VNF) system and the number of virtual machines (VM); calculating, in the case of the load and the number of VMs, a first benefit value of the VNF system that can be obtained by executing various actions in an action set, wherein the various actions in the action set all indicate increasing or decreasing the number of VMs; and acquiring and executing a first action, wherein the first action is an action with the maximum first benefit value of the VNF system that can be obtained.
