Abstract:
The present invention relates to an ion generator or cluster ionizer for an automobile, comprising an ion generating element for generating cations and anions by using a high voltage. In the present invention, there is a housing which is formed so as to have a hollow housing portion which links through to the outside of the housing and is closed off from the inside of the housing, and fitted inside the housing there are: the ion generating element for generating cations and anions when a drive voltage is applied; and a wound coil for generating the drive voltage to be applied to the ion generating element; and a circuit substrate. The coil is wound on the inside of the housing where the hollow housing portion is formed, and at least a ferrite material core is disposed inserted in the hollow housing portion where the coil is wound. The inside of the housing is filled with an insulating filler material. The present invention provides the advantage that it is possible to completely avert the problem of the ferrite material core becoming deformed of broken due to rapid thermal expansion of the filler material filling the housing of the cluster ionizer as thermal expansion rates differ.
