Abstract:
This invention relates to a clutch brake (A) consisting of a hub flange (12) constituting a brake assembly (B) and provided between two cover elements (19), (24) which constitute a cover assembly (C), recesses (14a) formed in the outer circumferential portion of the hub flange (12), centrifugal members (16) provided in the recesses (14a) and adapted to be pressed in the radially outward direction of the hub flange (12) by a centrifugal force, and initial torque generating spring members (18) provided between the centrifugal members (16) and hub flange. According to the present invention, the braking torque is increased quadratically as the number of revolutions per minute of an output shaft and increases, and a large braking torque increasing with the inertial force of the output shaft (3), which becomes larger as the number of revolutions per minute thereof increases, can be obtained. This can decrease the rate of abrasion of a friction facing.
