Abstract:
Disclosed is a CMOS inverter type frequency divider with further reduced power consumption compared with the past. The CMOS inverter type frequency divider is provided with a plurality of CMOS inverters, a frequency division control unit, and a drive power feeding unit. The plurality of CMOS inverters contribute to achieving a frequency dividing function. The frequency division control unit implements control such that some of or all of the plurality of CMOS inverters are each driven intermittently at a different timing from each other, in accordance with input signals. The drive power feeding unit feeds power used when driving each of the plurality of CMOS inverters, and, based on state information indicating whether it is the time of VCO sub-band selection or the time of normal transmission, also switches the amount of power used when driving each of either some of or all of the plurality of CMOS inverters to the amount used at the time of VCO sub-band selection or to the amount used at the time of normal transmission.
