Title:
CO-ORDINATE DETECTOR OF RELATIVISTIC PARTICLES
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2002/023554
Kind Code:
A2
Abstract:
The invention relates to nuclear instrumentation and microelectronics and can be used in particular for developing co-ordinate sensitive detectors of relativistic particles, X-rays and neutron radiation. The inventive detector is characterised by record sensitivity characteristics and a fast response in comparison with already known detectors. As distinct from known detectors, the inventive detector comprises new structures as detecting elements i.e. pixels. Said new structures represent functional elements in which potential holes and bipolar injector configurations are synthesised. Said elements have a record amplification level and low noise level, thereby making it possible to achieve a high fast response of the detector (greater than 20 nsecs) and the sensitivity thereof.
