Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a coated arc welding rod having excellent arc stability. The present invention pertains to a coated arc welding rod in which a part of a core wire containing Fe is coated by a coating agent, wherein a grip part of the core wire gripped by a weld holder is coated by a covering layer containing a Ca compound, the area ratio of the covering layer in relation to the grip part is 20% or higher, the thickness of the covering layer is 0.5-15 μm, and the surface roughness Ra of the covering layer is 1.0 μm or lower.
