Abstract:
Disclosed is a coated base fabric for an air bag, which is obtained by coating at least one surface of a fabric that is configured of synthetic fiber filaments with an elastomer resin. The coated base fabric for an air bag is characterized in that: the amount of the coated resin is as small as 10-20 g/m2; the crown portion of the fabric surface has an average resin thickness of 4.0-12.0 μm both in the warp direction and in the weft direction; the average of the burning rate as determined in accordance with FMVSS302 is not more than 60 mm/min both in the warp direction and in the weft direction; and the maximum value of the burning rate is not more than 1.20 times the average of the burning rate both in the warp direction and in the weft direction.
