Abstract:

A coated optical fiber which has a glass fiber comprising a quartz glass core and a quartz glass cladding and a primary coating and a secondary coating which are produced by photocuring a primary coating resin layer and a secondary coating resin layer provided on the surface of the glass fiber is characterized in that the maximum value A�S(max)? of the absorbance A�S? of the uncured secondary coating resin layer for the light with a wavelength in a range of 310 - 340 nm is not larger than 0.5, and the absorbance A�p? of the uncured primary coating resin layer for the light with a wavelength in the same range is larger than the absorbance A�S?.
