Abstract:
Disclosed is a coated sintered cBN which has excellent abrasion resistance and excellent chipping resistance, and in which the adhesion between a base material and a coating film is excellent, and which can have a prolonged tool life compared with those of the conventional products.
Specifically disclosed is a coated sintered cBN which comprises a base material comprising a sintered cBN and a coating film covering the surface of the base material, wherein the sintered cBN comprises cBN in an amount of 76 to 90 vol% and a binding phase and unavoidable impurities in the total amount of 10 to 24 vol%, the cBN has an average particle diameter of 0.5 to 5.0 μm, the binding phase has an average thickness of 0.05 to 0.8 μm, and the standard deviation of the thickness of the binding phase is 0.8 μm or less.
