Abstract:
A coated surface cutting tool is provided with a base material and a coating formed on said base material. Said coating comprises an α-Al2O3 layer (1), said α-Al2O3 layer comprises α-Al2O3 crystal grains and sulfur, and TC(006) for the orientation index TC(hkl) exceeds 5. Said sulfur has a concentration distribution such that the concentration of sulfur decreases with increasing distance from said base material side in the α-Al2O3 layer thickness direction.
