Abstract:
This coated tool comprises a base and a coating layer positioned on the base. The coating layer contains a cubic crystal that includes: at least one element from among elements in the fourth, fifth, and sixth group of the periodic table, Al, Si, B, Y, and Mn; and at least one element from among C, N, and O. The coating layer has a first peak positioned in the range of 0-90° and a second peak positioned at a higher angle than the first peak in an X-ray intensity distribution on the α axis in a positive electrode point diagram pertaining to the (111) surface of the cubic crystal. Furthermore, the coating layer has a valley section between the first peak and the second peak, the valley section having an X-ray intensity that is lower than the X-ray intensity of the first peak and the second peak. Also, this cutting tool comprises: a holder that extends from a first end to a second end, the holder having a pocket on the first-end side; and the abovementioned coated tool positioned in the pocket.
